The m-commerce module is aimed at giving the learner an understanding of the general m-commerce scene.  It focuses, firstly, on providing an understanding of the technology basics; in other words, what infrastructures and technologies are we really talking about and how do these fit together.  Thereafter the course moves to provide an understanding the economic scene within which mobile commerce operates. This paves the way for the course to discuss the application of the discussed technologies within the economic environment to commercial applications. Since commerce is (obviously) about money, security concerns are abound -- we discuss some security and privacy concerns that are prevalent in m-commerce circles.  Finally the course concludes with a perspective on developing applications in mobile environments.

The course will be presented as a series of lectures. The table below gives an overview of the lectures. Following the link to each lecture you will find links and references to various sources on the Internet that you are required to study in combination with the slides to prepare you for your formal assessments.
