IICTA - Institute for ICT Advancement

The Institute for ICT Advancement (IICTA) that forms part of the School, hosts the Centre for Information Security Studies (CISS).

Information Security has been a focal point at the NMMU for more than a decade. CISS nowadays hosts a number of information security related activities including research, conferences and courses, as well as consulting services. Many students have acquired postgraduate degrees from the NMMU under the auspices of CISS and have acquired very sought-after positions in industry in the discipline of information security. Various journal and conference papers have stemmed from researchers in CISS and the applied research conducted in CISS has offered many advantages to industry over the years.
