GSSA Award for ACE student

Congratulations go to Christelle De Klerk, a former student at ACE, on being awarded the GSSA Student Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Range and Forage Science at NMMU. The Grassland Society of Southern Africa (GSSA) is an independent body that promotes and advances the science and techniques of range and pasture management and the use and conservation of natural resources. In accordance with the constitution of the GSSA, one of the objectives is to make awards for outstanding contributions to range and forage science, including outstanding academic achievements by under- or post-graduate students at academic and training institutions.

The criteria used in adjudicating this award were:

· Relevance of the student’s study topic to range and forage science

· Final mark for an MSc

· Number of relevant papers already published for a PhD

· Time frames for the study (2 year for a Masters, 3 years for a PhD)
