Dietitian

Dietitians translate scientific information about nutrition into practical advice to help people make health-conscious decisions about food. They assess, diagnose and treat diet-related problems and raise awareness of the link between food and health.


Available Qualifications:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS  

  • Minimum NSC statutory requirements for degree entry must be met.
  • An applicant with NCS Grade 12 Mathematics requires a minimum Applicant Score of 390.
  • NSC achievement rating of at least 60% for Mathematics.
  • NSC achievement rating of at least 60% for Physical Sciences.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Unless Senate decides otherwise, candidates shall be admitted to the studies for the Master’s degree only if

  • they have obtained the four-year Bachelor degree in Dietetics and have been registered as dietician by the HPCSA; or
  • have been granted the status of such degree and registration with the HPCSA as dietician; and
  • have obtained a mark of at least 60% in the undergraduate fourth year major pertaining to the field of study for the degree.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Unless Senate decides otherwise, candidates shall be admitted to the studies for the Master’s degree only if

  • they have obtained the four-year Bachelor degree in Dietetics and have been registered as dietician by the HPCSA; or
  • have been granted the status of such degree and registration with the HPCSA as dietician; and
  • have obtained a mark of at least 60% in the undergraduate fourth year major pertaining to the field of study for the degree.
